GM300 Programming Problems (Part 2)

Post by Dereck »

OK, I have the computer that is needed and DOS 6.22 is the only thing on it other than my GM300 RSS. When I try to read the radio it says:

Accessing Serial Bus...

then:

Serial Bus Error:
#2 - No Acknowledge

The radio is on and powered just fine. Do I have to put it in programming mode somehow? I tried to switch the computer setup to the other port but that didn't work either. The RIB and cable work too...

What do I do???

Thanks,
Dereck

1. Turn Computer on

2. Connect Radio Cable to Rib Box

3. Connect Rib box to Either Com 1 or Com 2 ( RS-232 Port ) to
the computer.

( Make sure you have a Fresh Battery and Power Supply for Rib )

4. Load up the RSS to the Main Screen
============================

Look at the Bottom, CHOSE [ F 9 ] Setup Computer Configuration

CHOSE [ F 3 ]

Set up the proper File Loaction ect

5. Then go to the [ Serial Port ] Selections

Chose either Com 1 or Com 2

From there, WITH THE RADIO POWERED UP AND CONENCTED TO
THE RIB BOX, [ HIT F3 ] COMM TEST !!

If everything is OK, the Radio should Beep.....If you Chose COM 1
and it did not work, then chose COM 2 and do the same test.

If you have a good hardware set up, Generally either Com 1 or
Com 2 should work for you.
======================================

After you get the proper acknowledgement, then return
to the [ Main menu ]

6. Chose [ F 3 ] GET/SAVE Codeplug Data

7. Chose [ F 2 ] Read Radio

8. Exit to [ Main Menu ]

9. Chose [ F 4 ] Change / View Code Plug...

10. You are on your own from here....Pretty easy
