2015 Ford Explorer (Civilian) Wiring Diagram

Post by The Comish »

I am looking to add some radios to a UC vehicle which is a 2015 Ford Explorer, non police package. Is there power accessory points in the right kick panel area? Looking to tap the power from the inside of the vehicle so we don't have to drill through the firewall. (Lease vehicle). Any help on color codes or a wiring diagram etc would be helpful.

Nope... you will have to bring in your own power. There is a way to drill the firewall behind the glove box where a white plastic fill plate is then it comes up behind the strut tower then have to run the power along the top of the firewall to the battery.. All the wire colors can be found at Bulldogsecurity.com

Bring the power through the firewall with the rear windshield washer hose.

Run too much through the same space as a very small diameter rubber tubing you will pinch it off and have no rear wiper fluid...... no thanks

There is enough room in the grommet to create a large enough hole that it will not pinch off the tubing for a small number of wires, however this is definitely a valid concern so thank you for pointing it out.

Ive been upfitting 20+ years and seen too much stuffed through a factory grommet that has done more harm than good..

On the drivers side there are several large rubber grommets that have all sorts of space to drill a hole for your wires. Just make sure there are no wires on the engine sided that you may come in contact with while drilling the hole. I do this on all the radio installs for public safety that come my way.
