Code3 Mastercom Modification

Post by i2tall2c »

Can someone answer me this, I just purchased a Code3 Mastercom 3892L6 and was told the unit could be "modified" from 100w Siren output to 200W output. Looking at the Code3 website they say its an option.
Is there added hardware to do this or is it a modification that can be done in the field...

If a mod anyone know where to find instructions or destructions...

You just wire the speakers in parallel. The siren will drive 100 watts into 11 ohms... if you parallel two speakers, you get 5.5 ohms, thus 200 watts.

Be careful though, some sirens aren't this way... some of the Whelens require wiring the two speakers in series.
