First Charger Install w/Pics

Post by KuhnElectronics »

Did my first install today on a new Charger.

Check out the pics:

Some comments:

I think I went into the install with a bad attitude thinking that this install was going to be a pain, and that I would have all of these nightmare problems that I have heard from people.

I was quite wrong.

Even though this was a pretty basic install, I turned it out much faster than a regular cruiser build. The Whelen interface was a joke, but the customer bought them, so they went in. This one was supposed to be getting a push-bumper but it didnt come in on time for the vehicle's premiere in the weekend parade. The power taps in the console area are great, and the 3 pairs of wire ran to the grille made great speaker wire and LED control for the pushbumper LED's that will be going on. Honestly the only wires I ran in this car was 2 coax's, lightbar cable, and one 14awg for the rear deck LED.

I didnt get time for much pictures cause like I said before I was cramped on time, but of course I did take it for a spin around the block. It did turn alot of heads...lol

The speaker was a pain to get in using Federal's "Custom" bracket.

I actually was kinda impressed with this car..

kinda worried me when I couldnt find the battery though...lol...isnt that thing huge?

Let me know what you think...i know the pics aint great...but I am working on an un-marked on Monday for the Sheriif himself....

Yeah, I know it sucks, especially the Ericcson radio that sticks out almost as much as the armrest...lol

luckily we talked them into getting remote head kits for the next ones...

not sure about the size of the wheels...i can check though...

Decals look like they could be better... But then again I work for a decal shop in Dayton that does alot of Sheriff's Departments.

For the install, Looks great! And yeah... They need new radios or at least ditch the Ericsson!

I wouldn't have ruined the car above with a lightbar. I think a slicktop setup would have been bad-a$$ed! Love the black rims!
