Internet outage this morning from Charter / Spectrum

Thought I would post something here to see if anyone had problems with their Internet service provided by Charter / Spectrum.

Seems the problem started around 1 AM EST and ran through to around 1 PM or so. Seems the outages effected many parts of the country. If you had bundled services like a land line phone, that too was dead or you could dial, but no audio in either direction would pass.

In searching the Internet, there was a number of postings about the outage from many locations around the country here. Some of the postings made comment to the impression that the Charter employees were in contract negotiations. Time will tell as to just what the problem was and what was done to resolve it.

If the outages were caused by employees, then that would probably bring a couple of Federal agencies into the investigations. The news over the next several days should bubble to the surface what the real facts of the outages really were.

This appears as an outage affecting areas east of the Rockies. There are still some red spots on the map in Texas, New York, Philly and Louisiana. DDOS or someone uploaded an 'upgrade'?

Spectrum bought out BrightHouse in Florida. Since the transfer a few months ago, internet throughput has been getting slower and slower. I can usually do speedtest to a local server at 65+ X 7 MB but throughput on the router to most any website pukes at times. Router logs show WAAAY more DOS type activity and port scans than before.

I didn't notice an outage here this AM but used it lightly on the phone via WiFi.

The Charter Internet is up and running again. seems to not have all the sluggishness that it had before the strike began. Speed looks good and changing from one selection to the next seems much faster.

Maybe someone up the corporate ladder actually gave a crap about the customers for once. Be interesting to see if the FCC got on board with what the company was doing.

Hope everyone who has the Charter Internet service asks for a refund for the time their service was out.

I understand that the 25 state Spectrum outage was caused by a system update that went bad.
