DOSbox 0.65 and DLL's for download

Post by wavetar »

I've had many requests for the DOSbox 0.65 and DLL's, so I've made it accessible for download here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9vLYl ... sp=sharing

It's a zipped folder with DOSbox 0.65 and the needed DLL's. Just unzip & drop the folder wherever you desire. Double clicking the dosbox.exe will start it up. The config file is set to mount the entire 'C' drive, and sets COM1 as the serial port.

One caveat...I believe since we're dropping the folder onto the computer & it's not an actual installation of the software, there is a keyboard glitch. When you run RSS, you may find when you try to press say "F3" to read the radio, nothing will happen and you may hear an error beep from your speakers. Keep pressing the key 8 or 9 times, and then the keyboard will work fine for the duration of the DOSbox session. The next time you run DOSbox, it'll probably happen again. It hasn't been enough of an issue for me to bother looking too deep into it.

Otherwise, happy programming!

NOTE - you'll see all the separate files within the zipped file when you click on the link. Just go to "file" and "download"...you'll download the whole file.

Thanks, I just downloaded it. Would you know if this better to use with GM300 DOS software than say DOSbox 0.74? I was not able to get it to work even at a CPU Speed of 191 cycles or even less.

Thank you,

Luke

This is why I posted this link. This is a modified version of Dosbox, and the only one I've ever had success with for Motorola radio programming.

I am new to DosBox. My 386 laptop floppy appears to be out of alignment and I need to use an AMD 1GHz desktop. I use it to program Bendix radios and Windows-based Motorola software. But I have stacks of GM300's (GM300, Radius, M110, etc...) that I need to program. Could you help me along here with what I need and what I need to do? I'd sure appreciated it. I just need kinda a roadmap f what I need to do.

Simply click on the link I posted, and hit the "download" arrow at the top of the screen. Unzip the downloaded file, and drop the folder wherever you wish. It contains everything needed to run & communicate with GM300 type radios, and is fully configured for mounting the root 'C' drive and for serial port operation. Once DOSbox window is open, navigate to your RSS folder & run as normal.

I've never been successful in getting HT1000 RSS to work with any version of DOSbox.

What radios do you own?: an unhealthy amount of them

I'd like to know if anyone's been able to get DOSBox or any other VM working with MTSX and the MT2000. I've got two of them, a USB-Serial Cable and some free time and want to get them working.

With this version of DOSBox I get "REQUEST NOT ACKed/NAKed Error" when trying to read the codeplug.

The Syntor X9000 software is sensitive to the computer cache. It is best to shut it off. I have always run the software in a true DOS operating system. Trying to get it to run in a virtual machine type operation could well be where your problem is. Been programming the Syntor X9000 for a number of years and have never had a problem when using DOS.

There are some issues with the fixed scan list programming if you are trying to use the ham modified version. Many people revert to using operator programmable scan lists. But these all go away when the radio is shut off. So you have to set the scan list up every time you turn the radio on. Not my idea of a smooth way to use the radio. You spend way too much time trying to set up the scan lists.

Jim202,

Especially when you have 128 or more modes. Been there done that.
