You didn't mention if you have recently programmed the said Maxtracs or not. Did you try programming anything since the problem with the 1225s? Perhaps you have a power supply problem with the RIB?

I have an M1225 that wont read aswell, I can program any of my GM300 radios using this cable but it tells me the "radio is not powed up or the rib is not connected" for the M1225. I have tied with ver 3.1 as well as the newest CPS and the same thing happens.

At times, there have been 'issues' with the M1225 relating to programming, and I found that on one machine, if I had the IR port enabled, it would choke and fail to program the radio.

Not certain what IRQ was being strobed then, but once the port was disabled and the IRQ unassigned, all went well.

I've had this occur on Sabers and Jedis also....strange for certain, but quirks do pop up for no good reason.

I have also had to disable CPU caching to make things work too.

Maybe the CPU cache causes read ahead errors, or something, I don't remember what it was though.

I had the same problem until I found out that the software only works on computers with win98 or older. Now it works perfectly.

The older 1225 software (through 3.2, IIRC) will run under Windows 3.1 (I think you have to add a few files to that version of Windows for it to work correctly), Windows 95 (again, you may have to add a couple of files, they are included on the RSS install disk), Windows 98, and Windows ME. Will NOT work under Windows 2000 or XP (the software will run, but it can't access the COM ports to connect to the radio). The newest version (4.0) will work under Windows XP, not sure about Windows 2000.

What make and model of RIB are you using? If you're using an aftermarket RIB, that would be the first thing I'd check.

I had a Polaris RIB that one day just up and decided it wouldn't talk to M1225s anymore. It worked after that with anything and everything else, from Maxtracs all the way up to Astro Spectras, but it flat-out refused to communicate with M1225s. I replaced it with an OEM RIB, and everything was flowers and sunshine after that.

Version 3.2 and older RSS only works with Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows ME. The 4.0 Version of software works with Windows XP and Windows 2000.

Is there anywhere to obtain Rev. 4.0 of the software now that Motorola Solutions no longer has it available? Do they still consider it as intellectual property now that it isn't available and is no longer supported?

I'm registered on the Motorola Solutions site, but haven't paid for a software license. I assume you would need to have paid for software access even if it's a no longer supported product? I did the online chat with someone there and they told me it was no longer available. I'll have to take another look.

All you would need to do is fill out the software licensing agreement on MOL, There are a lot of discontinued software products that are available for download on MOL. M1225 (both standard and LS versions V4.0 for XP), CP185, Quantar, etc.
