XTL2500 900 mhz in ham?

im interested in 900 ham and i see theres XTL2500 mobile does 900 too, does anyone know how hard it is to set up one on 900? maybe it will do it out of the box?? :)
think about how to ENCOURAGE Motorola learning safely with GRACE.....NOT condemnation.

Yes, that radio will work on the 900 MHz ham band. You just need to hex edit CPS to enter the frequencies. However, I'm not a fan of XTLs and suggest that you would be happier with a Kenwood TK-981 unless you need p25 digital capability.
