What was the most recent FW for a MTX9250?

I just picked up a pair of MTX9250 radios. Seems someone is clearing out a bunch on E-Bay, & I paid $50 each. Mall radios for the wife, & me. I will not give her one of my XTS2500's. They both have FW 1.03.73. Wondering what the newest FW version is. GARY

Gary-

If you are not familiar with upgrading the firmware in these radios, you will need a rib and a fully wired cable going from the rib to the radio. You will also need a flash adapter, part number HLN9742, which you can either purchase or make on your own. I have done both. If you use a "ribless" programming cable, you will need part number RKN4075C - the aftermarket programming cables are missing the flash wire and I have never seen one that includes the additional wire. I have successfully modified one by adding the wire, but it is a PTA.

Since the radios, cables, flash adapters, ribs, etc. are now deprecated, you will end up spending about $300 for a cable and flash adapter. Upgrading the firmware from your current level is simply not worth the expense. If you can find someone with the cable and flash adapter, by all means upgrade. But here is what you get:

Fixed in R01.04.01:

I. Enhancements
Item #1: Audio Tone and Backlight
Audio tone and backlight is now enabled for ATEX radios.
II. Corrections
Item #1: Affiliation Retry
Radio would not retry to affiliate with the system once affiliation failure
occurred without first pressing the PTT.
Item #2: 800MHz Unable to TX/RX on TG19
Radio would not transmit or receive with a talkgroup 19 while on voice
channel 8.

Fixed in R01.04.03:

I. Enhancements
None
II. Corrections
Item #1: DISC Gain Optimization
DISC gain was optimized on all Lazarus radios.
Item #2: Power Off Issue
Radio would not successfully power off when system inbound was not
detected.

Upgrading is not worth the expense for ham use.

Thanks. I got a guy who can do all that, but considering they're just radios to use on simplex for the wife, & me at the mall, I doubt I will. But they both work well on 902/927, but I use my XTS2500 there. GARY
