I have a 900 MHz Maxtrac that I can not read with any software I have including the Maxtrac Lab. It is a model M07UGQ6FU1AN with firmware version HLN9643D and a 16 pin accessory plug. Do any of you know what version of RSS will read and program this radio?

Thanks,
Jack

That does not sound like a Maxtrac model number. Any 900 Maxtrac model should start with D27 or D37. What it does sound like is a European Waris or MCS/GM mobile. Also, the number you have for firmware is not a firmware revision, it's a part number.

Can you post some pictures of this beast? If you need a place to host them, Imageshack works.

You're both right. My magic decoder ring says that's a Maxtrac LS (for LTR trunking), which requires its own RSS.

Huh. I wonder why it's numbered like a Jedi/Astro radio and not a Maxtrac.

That being the case.. wouldn't the "U" in the 4th digit make it a 800 radio?

10-4 If its a jedi/astro? the "U" would be 800 and a "W" would be 900Mhz.

It is an 800 radio, and will make a fine 902 receiver.

Doesn't the "07" indicate that it's just a receiver? That would be even better as a 902 receiver.

It turned out to be a Maxtrac 800 MHz LTR radio. I ended up blanking the board and installing conventional firmware and have converted it to a 902 MHz receiver. I was not sure about talkaround but it works fine and it has excellent sensitivity, I used up the last pair of 900 MHz filters I had and apparently the source for more has dried up. Thanks for the feedback and help with identity, I never saw one of these before.
