GTX Power Adjust Mod

Post by w1ksz »

I want to use a GTX as a link radio. Since the Xmt freq is outside the radio range (927.xxx) the
softpot does not work.
Is there a mod to lower the power level to the 5 watt region ?

I found that document, I was looking for something less intrusive.
I did get a response from a friend though that did solve my problem,
so my need is satisfied.

A quick word on that r-b site mod... they could have done it by just removing the two chip resistors and using a 22k from the pot to pin 9 of the IC instead of hacking up the board like that... would be cleaner looking and completely reversible.
