do you have to Purchase the GPS option to get GPS date from the lan port to use with Dispatching software like trbonet

No, the GPS option for the 8400 is to enable "Enhanced GPS" which handles subscriber unit more efficiently. The Trbonet software uses a control station attached to a pc/server running their software. The portables/mobiles are then programmed to use that control station for ARS, Text and Location Services. I believe they have some documention on their website that lays out all the equipment and programming needed.

i always thaught that the GPS info was sent along with the Voice call. i turned on the ARS and that worked. played with trbonet and leaned some interesting things. i wish there was a way to turn off the ARS when the ignition was off
