Locking up on powering down

Post by bpems520 »

We are experiencing XPR 4550 and XPR 6550 locking up on powering down. Wiring and voltage all check out okay for mobiles and we have swapped batteries/chargers for portables. We have upgraded the firmware to version 1.09.10. A couple mobiles have been sent back to Motorola and still continue to lock up. Is anyone experiencing this problem or have any ideas?

Thanks,

Fred

We've got a fleet of 4550s and 6550s and havn't had that particular problem. What happens when they lock up? Are the screens still displaying anything? What do you have to do to get them working again; remove the battery/power? How are the mobiles powering down; ignition switch sense or using the power button? We are running a mix of 1.08ish and 1.09.1 firmware.

Good morining! They are locking up in the power down mode, the screen display says powering down. The only way to reset them is to pull the battery or unplug the power from the mobiles. They are using ignition sense. Thanks!!

If you are running ARS enabled for anything, you may try disabling that option temporarily and see if it cures the power off problem. If ARS is enabled, the radios do try to send to the ARS control station before completely powering off. The new 2.0 firmware is out, you could try that. We've only just started to enable ARS on a few of our mobiles for a mapping app we are testing but havn't seen any power off lock ups yet.
