XPR5550 remote kit?

Post by mr.syntrx »

Has anyone heard noises regarding an XPR5550 remote head kit becoming available?

Last I saw on the subject about a year ago on another forum in Feb 2012 said "about a year away", but I've heard nothing since.

Just picked up an XPR5550 with the intention of DIN mounting it in the dash of my new truck, but this is turning out to be a bigger PITA than I expected.

I was at a regional sales meeting in CT over the summer. I asked the question direct to an XPR 5500 manager. He quickly changed topics and that was the end of it. I have been told by an engineer that it probably will not happen due to the Bluetooth, they have fear of signal issues if the radio is remote mounted say in the trunk.
"Can you make my radio do that cool squeaky thing after im done talking? I don't need the numbers just like the noise."- Customer wanting MDC-1200 because it sounded cool.

A birdy just told me April of this year. A demo will be on hand at the dealer show next month.

You mean I can finally take my two demo radios out of the box and put them in my Excursion?
