xpr7550 rpt/talkaround help

Got a question....I am getting an XPR-7550, will have it tomorrow. In the mean time, A friend of mine got one and I am trying to programming it up. I tried to program channel-1 and put it direct mode. For some reason it will not allow me to go in direct mode? I assigned one of the soft keys, and when I press it nothing happens.... I also tried the orange button, again same problem.... I did go into the Channel Personality and I have checked the Repeater / Talkaround Check Box..... Anyone have any suggestions?

Make sure to check the box in the CPS that allows for talk-around operation. You may have to put it in "Expert View Mode" to see the option.

Box was checked off, but still doesnt work? Any fix?

whats freqs did you have for tx and rx?

I am having the EXACT same issue. Need to get these walkies programmed for a local volunteer Fire Department soon. Did you ever get an answer for this problem?
