What forces XPR to narrow? Newest F/W, or CPS?
I have a few XPR radios with F/W 1.09.10, & 1.09.00. I am using CPS 7.6. I want to upgrade to newer CPS, but I don't want the radio to be forced to narrow band. The 1.09.00 radios are fine, but the 1.09.10 radio does funny things, & some people locally think the CPS 7.6, & F/W 1.09.10 aren't a good match. So my question is what forces a XPR4550/6550 to narrow band. The newest CPS, or the newest F/W? And no, I am not entitled to an entitlement. GARY

Thanks. Last night I found a box checked which was causing the weird problems. Unchecked, & all is well. Also from what I found when FW 1.09.10 came out, the current CPS was 7.6. Later on CPS 8.0 came out, so both versions of CPS will work fine. Thanks again, & all is well now. GARY

Just don't go to 8.6 CPS. That version requires the wideband key that you have to get from Moto.
Luckily nothing happens to the radio when you try to program with 8.6 when the error box shows up and even if you save the CP in 8.6, 8.0 reads it just fine and can still be programmed.
