New MotoTRBO Radios Are Coming

Post by escomm »

CP200d Entry Level Portable DMR
CM200d Entry Level Mobile DMR

SL7590 900MHz SL7550
SL7580 800MHz SL7550

XPR7150 Basic Portable

XPR2500 Basic Mobile

Formal announcements on all except the XPR7150 look to be coming on Monday (in fact the PPT is already on MOL)

Also Motorola got type acceptance granted on the APX3000 covert radio but that's not really TRBO now is it??

Head on over to the FCC's OET website for internal/external pictures, manuals, etc.

PS. TRBO is NOT coming to the APX line.

CP200d, CM200d, CM300d place holders and some accessories are loaded on MOL. Photos are also available on "collective" for those with access.

No press releases yet so I am apprehensive to post any photos.

Interesting it appears all these "d' versions utilize new USB ribless cables for programming (~$20) and the microphones on the mobiles are different from the legacy counterparts. Other then that all other accessories remain the same.

I would assume these will be made public in the coming days.

I programmed some of these two weeks ago, and my main gripe about the CP200d is that they still use the same accessory jack.
The same one that causes the original CP200's to come in for repair more often than any other radio!

I don't mind it, as it is an easy repair, and it creates work for me, but you think Motorola might use a flex with contacts similar to the other types.
I guess that's what you get for purchasing the "cheaper" option. :)
Sorry, just ranting.

From what i understand the CP and CM 200's while being digital will not communicate with mototrbo equipment, only with other cp /cm models.
Te XPR7000 is going to be interesting as it looks to be build on the APX 4000 platform

CP200d and CM 200d radio will communicate with all other MOTOTRBO radios in digital conventional mode, with some notable exceptions.

They will work on conventional (Simplex or repeater), but will not work on advanced systems such as Capacity Plus, Connect Plus
