XPR cloning

Post by WMDFF »

Can I take a code plug from a 6500 and clone it into a 6550? They are both UHF but they are different splits. Nothing in the plug is outside the band split of the 6550. Would this work or is there a trick to make it work?

Never have tried but would not think it is possible due to different model number.

You can do the next best thing, which is 'drag and drop' from one codeplug to another, as you can do in most newer CPS packages. The TRBO is a little different though...in all others you open up two separate instances of the CPS, one for the 'target' codeplug & one for the 'donor' codeplug, then drag & drop between them. With the TRBO CPS, you open up both codeplugs within the same CPS, then drag & drop between them.

Are there any sources for non-OEM Trbo 6500 programming cables?

Why worry about screwing your radio up the Motorola cables are only like $65 or $70?
