Aeroflex 3920 as TDR?

Post by dag »

Is it possible to use the 3920 as a TDR to measure cable impedance and find faults? If so, how? Thanks.

You can use the distance to fault app.

Or:
1) Switch on tracking generator
2) Connect antenna and gen port with a short cable and a T
3) Connect T to cable to test.
4) Compute distance between nulls in MHz
5) distance to fault = VelocityFactor*c/Freq*2
This is my opinion, not Aeroflex's.

I WILL NOT give you proprietary information. I make too much money to jeopardize my job.

I AM NOT the Service department: You want official info, manuals, service info, parts, calibration, etc., contact Aeroflex directly, please.

Contact sales for more info, but IIRC there is an app for automating the process for you.
