Setting Peak Deviation Alarm on R-2001D

Post by motorolamaven »

I just picked up a clean R-2001D. All functions work ok but when I put the unit in GEN/MON and FM Mode it screams like a banshee. Manual says that it's the peak deviation alarm threshold and I can adjust it via the keyboard. I haven't run one of these since Bush 41 was in office.... Anybody help me out with the procedure ??

Found it on page 3 of the posts.

After powering up the unit, simultaneously depress the left and down arrows.

This opens the special function menu (a command slot for two digits)

I did a 79 command and it reset the unit.

Alarm tone went away and cleared the rf frequency table.

Anyone know of a list of the special function commands that I can get my hands on ?????????

It's in the R2001D Op manual. It was online at one point in time.

If you cannot find it will post it on the P25 site

You may want to consider replacing the processor battery

Thanks for the reply.

I've already ordered a new processor battery and have been bitten by that in the past.

I did not receive any manuals with the unit (I'm ordering those this week) so if you could post those codes for me I would be most grateful.

Thanks again !!

To answer your original question about the over deviation alarm, just go to monitor mode, move the cursor to the dev level and enter all zeroes. This turns the alarm off.
