IFR 1900 Self Test Fails

Post by Big BOB »

I have an IFR 1900 that seems to work perfectly, but I have 3 sections that fail Self Test. Power Meter, AM Modulation and FM Deviation. I use these regularly and have no problems. I have even checked with another service monitor to compare readings. However I would like it to pass its tests. Someone told me that a calibration might resolve the problem. Does this sound reasonable?

make sure you are getting 0dm out of the T/R connector when running test 16.

depending on how far off from 0dm and which direction calibration may correct.

The tolerance on the 0dbm output for test 16 is +- 2dbm.
