Old Version: Host – R17.00.00, DSP – R16.50.20
CPS Version: R17.00.00
Important Notes:
Abstract: R16.00.01 was the last release where 4M updates will be made
System Platforms Affected: System independent
Special Configurations: N/A
Description: R16.00.01 was the last release where defect repairs were added to the
4M radios. The program memory space on these radios has been consumed, and no
further additions are planned. 4M radios include ASTRO Spectra Plus with old
version Vocon board and XTS2500, XTS1500, MT1500 and PR1500 radios with model
numbers ending in ‘AN’. ASTRO Spectra Plus radios with new Vocon board will be
upgraded to R17.00.02 Host, R17.00.02 DSP and R05.07.15 UCM. This will occur
automatically; personnel FLASHing radios will not need to be aware of which Vocon
board is present. As of R17.00.00, the version number for the ASTRO Spectra Plus
with the new replacement Vocon board will be the same as for the rest of the
XTS/XTL products. However, the feature set of the ASTRO Spectra Plus will not
change, and will continue to be limited to the collection of major features that
were available in R09.
Issue Updates:
Abstract: Subscriber Reset in P25 Trunking
System Platforms Affected: APCO 25 Trunked
Special Configurations: N/A
User Symptom: Receiving radios running R17.00.00 firmware may reset randomly at the
conclusion of a call. This is only seen in P25 Trunking environments and only in
some systems. It will not be seen in 3600 systems or Conventional applications.
Description: This firmware issue has been resolved.

That's because the CPS is junk, not the firmware.KB9KST wrote:Release notes (odd nothing is mentioned about fixing any bug with R17.00.00 that bricked radios):

Well they pulled the firmware R17.00.00 for being defective, not the CPS. I have had no problems with CPS 17.

Re: Astro25 Firmware R17.00.02 Released 3/8/12
I Second and Third this quote, CPS R17.00.00 is junk and is the culprit, not the firmware, I have had twenty 01/82 errors, on both 2500s and 5000s and a 5000 that just came back from the depot, It's the CPS and it keeps timing out and creating errors. !!!!!K8TEK wrote:That's because the CPS is junk, not the firmware.KB9KST wrote:Release notes (odd nothing is mentioned about fixing any bug with R17.00.00 that bricked radios):
