USB Programming After Window 10 2004 Update

Post by mutantblue »

Anyone else having problems after the Windows 10 2004 update? Since updating my PC, neither my XTS or XTL USB programming cables seem to be recognized in Device Manager. I get the "jingle" when I plug them in, but nothing gets populated on the screen. As a result neither, CPS can't talk to my radios. These are stock Motorola USB programming cables. I downgraded Windows to 1909 and everything came back. Tried 2004, and same problem. In fact all of my COMM ports seem a little wonky since the update. Even my straight serial cables seem more temperamental. Anyone else seeing anything like this?

The 2004 update has been reported to cause problems with various programs that use comm ports. Supposedly Microsoft is working on it.
