Low RX audio on XPR7550's compared to XPR6550's

We have a user with a number of UHF XPR6550's on a Capacity+ system. We just added in some XPR7550's (non-e version) and the user is complaining that the RX level on the XPR7550's are considerably lower than the existing XPR6550's.

I can't see anything in the codeplug that would reduce RX volume. Any thoughts?

I haven't checked firmware rev levels yet.

Had a similar situation with the 7550e radios and 2.07.01 firmware. The rx audio dropped drastically. Did a device recover and it resolved the issue. I created a new codeplug and all is well. Not sure if I had a codeplug issue or the device just didn't like the new firmware. I've also had to go into tuner and turned the volume up to the max to get it close to a HT1250 rx audio level.

Thanks for that, but I hate EID's like that. If you have one or 2 radios with an feature enabled, you can no longer clone a codeplug to it. You end up with multiple versions. It's a real pain in the a** for fleet management.

Some of the 'TRBO line don't seem to handle clone well with firmware or CP differences between donor and victim.

The audio EID is not to fix this problem but to deal with mixed audio levels noticeable with mixed vendor DMR fleets and particularly noticeable on the DMR-MARC and BM ham networks where everyone seems to have their own unique (or inherited) tx audio settings.

One of the users here, toojaygee, has done a deal of testing on the levelling EID and reports it works well.

The default audio levels in tuner were changed lower in recent firmware versions. That did however, stop the failed internal speaker problem on the 7xxx series. Default audio is noticeably lower on recent radios from the factory.
