XPR 2500 control head Syncronization?

Post by cbroseinak »

I have a couple XPR 2500 radios that turn on, can be read and reprogramed, but I am unable to change frequencies and they will not TX on the channel they are "stuck" on. If I take a control head off of a known good working XPR 2500 and swap it with the problem radio, I can change channels, but the red LED flashes and I cannot transmit on any channel.

Also, if I leave one of the problem XPR 2500's powered on the bench for 3-5min, they produce a constant tone.

So I was wondering if/when you swap a control head, do you need to flash the firmware of the radio after you install the control head to sync the radio with the
control head? or is there something else.

Install the proper firmware and reset the radio with the cps.
