looked and can not fine anything to enable or disable.

I have an XPR3500 with a simplex secure channel and it will sound a short tone on RX. My other model radios do not do this on RX.

I was guessing it had to be secure setting since it does not do it on any of the other simplex channels.

please tell me the operator headspace if off or the nut behind the wheel is off..............

I would bet the radio is telling you that it has no encryption key loaded. Doesn't matter if the channel is simplex or duplex/repeater. That's the way encryption works on almost every other product. Either load a valid key or remove encryption from all channels formerly programmed to use it.

key is loaded and works properly

pretty sure its the radio telling me I am receiving encryption but not sure where that function is located in the software.
