SIT vs Hang Time

Post by PRR »

When a Trbo repeater is operating in digital mode, what exactly is the difference between traditional hang time and SIT (Subscriber Inactivity Timer)? Based on the description in the CPS, SIT sounds merely like a second hang timer.

Hangtimer is for analog channels, SIT is the same thing for digital channels. Make sure you read the system planner, some of the other timers add to the SIT time, making your duty cycle an important thing to consider.

So hang time is not available for a digital channel? I thought it was, as well as SIT, especially since the help file for SIT says to make sure SIT is set at least as long as hang time, but preferably longer. I'll have to look at this more closely.

Thanks.
