Astro Spectra T99DX-149W 110Watt programming cable ?

Post by vk2ual »

Gday to all from VK2
I have just bought an Astro Spectra T99DX-149W 110Watt but am unsure what programming cable I should be using ? I have T99DX-144w programming cable and am not able to get it to work with my new old stock Astro Spectra T99DX-149W 110Watt rig. I am going to use in on the 70cm band in vk as p25 is going off in Sydney with 8 P25 repeaters and more on the drawing board. The T99DX-144w is a great rig for the vk 70cm band but it is always nice to have more power if needed. Well that's all for now thanks for your time and help with this question it is greatly appreciated. 73z Richard VK2UAL

Which cable do you have, the one that plugs into the 15 pin Accessory jack or the one that plugs into the 25 pin jack? High power Spectras program through the 25 pin jack under the handle.

Also could you post the other model numbers for the radios (the ones labeled ID), they should look something like T04KKD9AW7AN.

Gday to all,
I have my Motorola Astro Spectra T99DX-149W 110 Watt is now idling to perfection. I programming cable for the RFguys has a chip in the cable so no need for a R.I.B and I use a usb Adaptor/Convertor cable from the 9 pin to the computer and on the other end the 25 pin goes direct into the Astro Spectra. I am not sure what version of CPS I am using as the software is is on an older pc so I will get back to you with that information. I am very happy with my new High power Motorola Astro spectra, I have owned a 2nd hand 40w Spectra and love it but to own a high power { new old stock - NOS } radio for $100 and seller has had quite a few of these NOS sold 20 ish so far. I am using the resistor mod ie pin 4 to pin 6 using a 560k resistor enabling the radio to be used on VK Aussie Ham Radio 70cm band repeater spectrum from 438.000Mhz - 440.000Mhz. Well that's all for now, I have put a link for the cable and I will get back to you about the CPS version. 73z Richard
