Messages and Statuses functions in Astro25 radios

Post by MotoFAN »

Hi all!

Looks like Messages and Statuses things are very simple. Program a list of statuses, allow Message/Status in Conv System, add appropriate menu items and here you go. But actually radios shows No ACK after a few TX attempts.

I see that when first radio transmit another radio is receiving. But no luck. Conventional P25 simplex channel, nothing special. Aliases tables does exist and looks identical.

What I missed?

Also, I have no ideas, who is the calling party when I send them? Because these functions doesn't show you contacts/IDs. Where they are going to?

Status & Messages are only received & decoded by consoles, not other subscribers. The alias list is only to scroll through to find the message or status you want to send, it's not for decoding incoming staut/messages.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.
