I have a question about battery drain when the APX6000 is shut off. These are all new radios that have very little use.
The radios have Impress batteries on them. They are the long large, long ones.
Charged all 3 radios and left them on the desk for 2 weeks, shut off. Let the charger cycle through a recondition cycle when the batteries were charged. Turned on the radios and the battery indicator showed all the batteries were just about dead.
The radios do have encryption in them.
Is this a fluke, or something that is normal to have the battery be drained down when not in use?

Someone must have some feedback on this problem.
Re: APX6000 battery drain when shut off
So the battery indicator still shows but it's "low"? Or the indicator doesn't show at all after 2 weeks of dormancy? Impres batteries are known to lose the gauge after sitting that long.
Re: APX6000 battery drain when shut off
If I remember correctly, only the outline of the battery was there and no bars to indicate the state of the charge.
I just got through cycling them through the Impress charger again and will see how they react to sitting again.

If you let them sit for 2 weeks, they'll show no battery icon at all when you power the radio on after that duration of dormancy.Jim202 wrote:If I remember correctly, only the outline of the battery was there and no bars to indicate the state of the charge.
