APX8000 Bluetooth board

Post by gopher »

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to do a firmware flash on the Bluetooth option board? My board is showing all 00s for the board serial, BT hw address, and Wi-Fi address.. If not, suggestions on how to go about getting a replacement?

it's nothimg to do with firmware flash, you rewrite a dirty codeplug into your radio, right?
so address are all zero. back to M to recover...

That's why i assumed it was a bad board, most devices the mac address is burned into the hardware.. Looks like Motorola does it via software..

I know this was awhile ago, but for anyone else searching. It seems that the APX8000 Motorola went to storing the MACs for the BT and Wifi in the Codeplug. So what is happening is if someone tries to force in a new codeplug without the MAC info it will then show all zeros for the MAC. My understanding is all zeros for the serial is normal Evan on a factory fresh one. The only way I know to fix it is to load the original CP back into the radio.
Im sure there are other ways I'm just not privy to.

I'm having a similar issue with mine. I am going to send to M to get repaired but it is not a high priority issue which is why I am posting here. If anyone else knows how it is done, I would be very grateful to be taught the process.

I prefer it be posted on here instead of email but some people are weird about posting.
