SRX2200 top display vs APX top display

It seems that the coyote brown top bezel cannot be ordered from Motorola. Looks like you have to buy the whole SRX chassis if you want to make your APX desert tan. I have read somewhere that the SRX2200 top display has a DIM mode for use with night vision? Has anybody played with one? Is it plug and play with a 6000/8000 or is the display driver/connectors for the 2200 a completely different animal?
