APX CPS and Tablets

Post by mont1120 »

Is it possible to run APX CPS on small tablets just to write the CPS program? It would make life much easier if I could write into a tablet while traveling w/o having a full laptop to enter data. Is there a way or certain tablet that will run this large program?

This is very doubtful.
APX CPS is very bloated as compared
to the Astro 25 Mobile or portable CPS.

As long as the tablet can run Windows 10 then CPS should run and likely be fine for read and write operations. I know a number of people who are using cheap pc-on-a-stick with USB cables to run APX RM Device Monitor which is part of Radio Management. How far you can get with editing and making changes will depend on things like processor speed, amount of available ram, and disk space. But for some operations like read/write - it likely will be OK. I would make sure it'll at least run Professional. I don't know if I would roll the dice with Home.

I have a Getac tablet for running APX and astro25 as a backup to my primary laptop while traveling. Mine came with a native serial port.

Don’t use it much as it’s more difficult to navigate than a traditional laptop but it’s saved me on more than one occasion.

Just an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Getac-F110-11- ... Sw4cdgGIDR

I am using both a Surface tablet and a Dell 7200 tablet and the CPS works fine with a USB programming cable.
