CM200 and reference oscillator warp

Post by arlojanis »

I have a CM200 (old model) that is off frequency. The basic service manual shows to use a RLN4460 test box, a FKN8113 ELM adaptor cable, a RKN4083 program/test cable, and a RLN4008 RIB. It shows to program thru rear acc connector. All part numbers except RIB do not come up on MOL. Is all of this necessary? Is there another way to set transmit frequency?

I haven’t done one in a while but I believe you can just use the tuner software and the RIB and regular programming cable to the mic jack. Make sure you have the correct cable, as I recall it is not the same as Maxtrac/Radius/CDM.

Batlabs should have the cable wiring, I made my own years ago.

Thanks for the reply. However it did not work. I can program radio, but will not will not work for alignment. I will try another CM to test my CPS, cable, and RIB for aligning.

I tried another radio and no soft pot read. I am using Global Tuner and Entry Level Tuner. CM manual says to use a "tuner program".

I'll look into it some more. I've never hooked one up the way it shows in the manual, but it's been a while since I've dealt with the CM series and even then I didn't deal with many, so I suppose it's possible I've never actually had to align one.

Commercial series Global Tuner should do the trick. It's the same cable to align that it is to read. You only need the adapter to upgrade the firmware.

Do you have the Pro series tuner? I was able to use that with a RIB and CM series mic jack programming cable, no problem.

Did you try it? I used R02.15.00, I don't know if it would matter that much.
