I was wondering if anyone has used or installed a 911ep TD28 or similar model and what their opinions are about these LED lights

I've installed two 911s lately and was actually impressed by an LED only for the second time in my life.

These are a very rugged unit with their mega-housings and in my opinion, they are probably in 2nd place in brightness and angle of view in the LED market....and I know you are all expecting to hear this, so.....yes- they are a better LED than what Whelen offers

I can't verify this for sure, but they look to be very waterproof. Did anyone ever take one under yet?

(Don't laugh. This is actually something that I do to light fixtures and/or power supplies when at trade shows. I'll totally submerge the entire power supply, cables and lamps in an aquarium and run them all day long. Anyone wanna put their UPS series power supply in my fish tank next to the Tomar system? That's what I thought!)

I have installed a dozen or so of the different size 911EP lights over the past 6 months. No problems as of yet. They are bright although not as bright as the new Tomar LED lights I have.

There's actually a video, made by 911EP, that shows them chucking their lightbar into a pool all lit up and running. It seems waterproof enough. Granted, it was made by the very company that produces it, so how 'scientific' it is, I cannot attest. I wonder how much pressure it can withstand... SCUBA diving with LEDS! :>

Thanks to everyone for responding. Although expensive as are most LED the 911ep's seem to be a well made and compact traffic director and yes I have read that they are waterproof. I haven't made up my mind yet about going with these LED's or a more conventional halogen traffic director.

Definitely recommend the LED over the halogen traffic sticks. It next to all the other advantages LEDs bring over halogens, you can also use this traffic stick as a regular warning lights as it has more than just directing patterns. I got one of the 28in sticks mounted outside, works like a champ. When responding, it is in one of the warning patterns, as I seldomly need the directing patterns...

Hi,

I have a wl 28 all red mounted to the front of my roof rack and a td 28 red/yellow/red mounted on the rear. They work great and the low current draw allows me to leave the lights on and turn the vehicle off for extended periods of time and still have enough current in the battery to start the vehicle. Best of all when they are off no one notices them. I have had them for over a year with no problem.
