When programming a TK780H you get to choose either 136-162 or 146-174. If I pick the former I get a mixed trunked/conventional setup screen. Pick the latter and I get a simple conventional only screen. Why these frequency splits? BTW this is a Passport-enabled unit.
Thanks.

"depending on your point of view, either the changing magnetic flux makes the electric field, or the changing electric flux makes the magnetic field- but you can't have one without the other"
I have stacks of the TK780s. In both V2 and V3 of the software:
Model -> 1.TK780[Mobile:VHF]
VHF -> 136-162, 146-174
Option Board -> None, Voice Scrambler, ANI board
Is FleetSync an installed option? -> Yes/No
Radio Format -> Conventional/Trunking
Model Type/Radio Band -> OK/Cancel
You should be able to choose either conventional or trunking layout for either bandsplit. What version of the software are you using?

tvsjr, you are correct. My brain went to lunch last night. The SW is v3.01, the DOS version. (Is there a Win version?)
I could not figure out how to make the TK780 scan behave in mixed mode, so I am going to run it in conventional mode for a year or two. By then the system will go Passport I am told.
Thanks for the info.
BTW which jumper do you change to disable IGN SENSE?
Don't have the manual.
Bernard.
