You can program up to 16 conventional channels in it, or up to 128 in trunked zones. I belive (someone will correct me) that you can have conventional channels in there WITH trunked, but not sure about having both in a scan list.

The HT1250 (no suffix) is conventional only - 128 modes, that's it.
The HT1250LS is conventional and LTR - a mix of 16 conventional channels and 128 (or so) LTR talkgroups.
The HT1250LS+ - Dunno, never played with one.
The right answer, if you really want to do tons of both and mix them, is the HT1550XLS. 160 conventional channels plus all the trunking you can enter, up to a maximum of 255 personality assignments to zones.
You should be able to scan LTR and conventional in the same list on a HT1250LS, but it's been awhile since I've looked.
As far as the channel layout, when you create a zone, you will identify it as either LTR or Conventional. You can't mix LTR talkgroups from multiple systems, or LTR talkgroups and conventional channels, within one zone.

CMD 1550LS
I assume the mobile version (CDM1150*LS+) is simmilar to the HT version. Can you do just conventional only without any LTR?

if i'm reading it correctly, (and the vicodin isn't talking) the CDM1250LS+ will do conventional only if you so program it that way..

Yes, you can do 16 (or 18 maybe) conventional modes with out any LTR in the radio.tazada wrote:I assume the mobile version (CDM1150*LS+) is simmilar to the HT version. Can you do just conventional only without any LTR?
CDM-1550LS+ conventional Modes
Sorry about the typo in the first post. The radio I was wondering about is the CDM-1550 LS+ FW version R05.05.04
I have only have version 4.00.00 of CPS and am having trouble programming just conventional freqs. Is that my problem or does the radio need an LTR system in it and can not just do conventional Freqs?
Thanks for the info so far, I hope this clears it up a little.

If you are programming the conventional channels in the "conventional personality" section of the RSS, you will have NO problem going to 18 conventional UHF channels...if you are trying to fit the conventional channels in the LTR section or the signalling section of the RSS (in some godawwful way) then it will not work...
i have dozens of HT1250LS+ in our dept that are entirely conventional, and we have no problem programming them with the RS ver 4.

ltr and convemtional
The radio surports 16 conventional channels and a number of ltr systems.
It is possible to program the radios conventional scan to scan conventional channels and ltr talk groups. ( can be very slow)
