CDM's Out of Band

Has anyone figured out how to program a CDM mobile out of band?

I have a CDM1250 UHF on my work bench that I use for company Plus several Ham repeaters. The software did not seem to care about out of band.

If you enter and out of band freq, it will come up as an invalid field and not allow you to save or write it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the UHF ham frequencies reside in the 440MHz range? The radio is capable of 403-470, so it wouldn't care about ham. Try to program it for something above or below the 403-470 range, you'll get the invalid fields & won't be able to program the radio.

Never tried that far out. I had no reason to. Only interested in low 450 and 440 to 449.

ok, well then i think i misunderstood that question a bit then...When i hear a question about "out of band" programming on a mobile or a portable, i tend to think of a mobile being programmed outside of it's bandwidth chunk that it's designed for....like for instance 399 on a 403-470 CDM mobile, rather than thinking of programming a radio outside of a band that you are legally allowed to transmit on...who knows, you may want to listen to some strange guvna on 399, are you gonna transmit, no! i hope not...that's where i'm coming from.....i tend to think on the physical side, not the 'legality' side.

Well my aplication is to program 6M into a high split Lowband CDM 1550. I have had a beta unit for several years and would like to use it for HAM.
And by the way if your radio is 403-470 then 444 is in the band it's designed for.

I've been trying to find a 403-470 to trade with my 450-512 but have not had much luck. It was so easy when you could just hold down the shift key in the RSS.....

Has there been any success modifying a CDM to do 6M HAM? This would be a BIG benefit to HAMs if it can be done. I know I would jump at the chance to get a CDM on 6M.

I have a UHF CDM1550 Model, Model Number AAM25SKF9DU5AN, S/N 792IACXXXX; wich reads as 450-512, LTR, 16 Conv. Channels.

Welll....when I read it with the RSS it comes up as 403-470 with 128 Conv. channels and serial number 1234567890. SO, this radio has been successfully hacked for 70CM ham and more conv. channels.

I could distribute the code plug for this, but is this allowed on BatLabs?

There are some tools out to re-flash the radios with whatever you want, to change the market designator, to use non-standard codeplugs...but you can fry your radio with this.

No, not at all. Just using those hacked tools without good knowledge may fry your radio.
