Nope. Program a separate mode with the power level (hi or low) that you want.
The "H/L" button is "Horn/Lights" for alerting.
No power level adjustment on the "fly".
If you have "DIR" (direct) programmed on a repeater, that power level is selected separately from the power level of the repeat mode. But it is done in RSS, not on the radio.

RE power sel
I use DIR to achieve what you are asking, and program the power levels differently in DIR mode, I dont think there is any other way.

Isn't the power level programmable in the ALIGN section of the Spectra TEST mode? i haven't futzed with that particular setting in the TEST menu....but i know there's FPP adjustments capable to HIGH and LOW power settings....jcobb wrote: But it is done in RSS, not on the radio.
i mean, this isn't like true one-button changing of power levels, and the closest thing you can get to high power and low power adjustment WOULD make sense to be separate modes in the radio, but if i understand the TEST mode function and the ALIGN area (of which i've never touched), i think the powerlevel is at least field changable w/o the RSS, in this manner.

As Jack mentioned only way to change power output from front panel is thru 'dir' key and it can only be done on simplex channels. You can change the direct power output level in RSS which is how I set up my mid power Spectra, running 40w on all channels then when I press the DIR key I have that option set at 20w. out but only works on direct channels on repeat mode you're stuck with whatever your RSS setting is.

[quote="RadioSouth"]As Jack mentioned only way to change power output from front panel is thru 'dir' key and it can only be done on simplex channels. So, you can set your simplex channels in this manner, repeat modes will need that low power mirror channel. So, at least you get half the cake.
