Okay, what's the deal with the programming cable on the MTR2000 base unit. I can't find it on Batlabs. I understand that it's a direct line from the computer to the MTR without a RIB. DOes anyone know the pinout?

MTR2000 The cable has a DB9 9 pin connector on the computer end and an eight contact RJ45 on the radio end. NO RIB is used for this radio. There are two RJ45 jacks and a four pin jack on the radio.

The pinout of the programming cable for the MTR-2000 repeater should be as follows:

Computer RPTR
DB9 RJ-45
2 --------------- 3
3 --------------- 2
5 --------------- 4

With the flexible locking tab away, and the cable exit hole to the left, pin 1 is on the bottom.
Hope that this helps!

Hey Will, I assume you're familiar with these units. I want to add an external speaker to one. What is the pinout of the connectors?

If you have a service manual for the Desktrac, email me directly if you would. No everyone...I'm not doing anything illegal!

To add a speaker to a MTR2000 requires an amplifier to drive the speaker. There is a low level signal on the four pin connector, "telephone RJ " jack. One pin is +14 volts, watch out. I used a amplified speaker from a PC computer and wired up a plug for it. I do not remember the pin out.
