What exactly are you trying to do. Is this going to be an actual repeater or for a mobile extender. I have succesfully piggybacked a Maxtrac onto a loband Maratrac as a vehicle extender. If this is what you are trying to achieve, let me know and I will explain to you how to do it. Most of it is shown on the BATLABS specific model info concerning Maxtracs.

Hi:

With respects to your SP50, just return the
radio and have them program it properly.

With respects to your question about the
Maratrac / Maxtrac, yes you would be able
to use a RICK to extend the performance of
your radio, but you might consider looking
at the Batlab Site and get some ideas a it
really will not be a plug "in" play operation.

I have made a few of these for the local
Fire Depeartments, and it does take
some time, and effort to make it work.

You may have to build a samll inteface box to
address each radios configuration, and then
if you desire to use all the features in the
R*I*C*K, then you can come from your acc'y box to the R*IC*K.

I took all the needed accessory points from the target radios, fed those to a small interface box, then re-routed the other cables to the R*I*CK which kept the radio
seperate from the modifications in the event
service is required.

Sorry to report, its not as simple as connecting a wire or two.

About the SP50....I did the programming myself and programmed the moniter button for moniter and the option buttton for scan/nuciense delete and I still have nothing..not even a beep when I hit them. and about the MARATRAC what I would like to do is set this up as a fixed base repeater. I had a repeater set up w/ a M1225(RX) and GM300(TX) and just was not getting enough power out. I used the 16pin connections from the radios to the interface and it worked fine. What I want to do now is use the 16pin connection from the M1225 to the rick as recieve and run the cord from the phone type jack on the back of the rick (J2-TX) to the RJ45 programming port on the Maratrac. It says here on batlabs that you can key it w/ a radius mic because all the pin assignments are the same. If this can be done let me know and if not just call me a fool I guess!!!:)

The trick to using the Maratrac with a Maxtrac is setting up the Maratrac itself. If you follow the procedures described in batlabs, all the mods are the same concerning the personality boards on bothe the Maxtrac and Maratrac. The only difference is in the mic connector on the Maratrac. Instead of using the programming port on the Maratrac, make the cable connections directly to the pins on J8. I had tried going through the program port on the Maratrac but it did not work correctly beause of the interconnect board. I have done about ten of these for our dept. I piggy backed conventional 800 Maxtracs to the Loband Maratrac and we use them as extenders in our mobiles.

The programming port on the Maratrac is not pinned the same as the Maxtrac, All the Maratracs in are fleet will not work when a mic is plugged in to that port but the two stray M400s will. If you are planning on making the power connections as is explained on the maratrac Page you can use shielded cable connected to the Maxtracs Mice, PTT & Ground at the radio and an RJ25 connector for the RICKs TX Jack.
