I called Motorola's parts ID number for the very item you're discussing. I had a very hard time convincing the individual that I did not want the number for the Saber charger, just the insert to use with the older MX/STX chargers. After much deliberation I was provided with a part number. When I asked him if the item was still available and what the current price was, he advised they were stil in stock and the price was between $90 - $100 (I can't remember the exact figure). Needless to say, I chose to pick up a Saber charger at the next swap meet I attended for $40. One of these days Motorola will figure out why those plastic inserts are still in stock with so many MX/STX chargers laying around (my basement).

That's funny. They used to be 25 bucks each. I guess they were too sweet a deal at that price. I mean, heaven forbid that we be able to get some more use out of our thousands and thousands of still working MX and STX chargers, right? Let's put those old working chargers into the landfill, is that it??
The environmentally responsible thing to do would be to continue to offer those adapters at 25 bucks each so all those MX chargers don't clog the landfills because they have a second life with the adapter.
