These knobs are really just low-profile Saber parts which everybody uses if, note I say IF, you don't have to reach inside an SVA to change channels on your Saber, in which case the standard knob with the top that sticks up is much easier to use. For regular Sabers try part number REX4659 on the Motorola search engine. I don't know if the same exact mounting knob is used on Astro Sabers. The 4659 package from Motorola gets you two knobs, one with a white line on it and one with no white line - - all black - - as well as all the red, blue, and green shaft mounting adapters.

Saber knobs are NOT the same as Astro Saber knobs. Neither will fit properly on the other radio. This applies to standard and low profile knobs.

The Astro low profile knob kit does not appear in the radio's service manuals. If you can't find it in a search, call Motorola, parts ID group, at 1-800-422-4210.

Those knobs are generally similar, but there's no white line and the top of the channel low profile knob is slightly indented. For some reason I can't post a scan of a set of LP Astro Saber knobs.

What's the big deal, anyway? I've got two radios with the low profile knobs and the truth is that they suck compared to the regular knobs, but I'm too lazy to change them. I certainly wouldn't buy a set of them! With the standard knobs, you can check your volume and channel selection purely by feel, which is the point of their design. Much better.
