I've never dealt with one of these radios until yesterday, and was surprised to find no way for the radio to decode QCII, unlike it's cousin the HT1000. Is there anyway to do it? I don't have the RSS manual.

Also am wondering if I can make the display decode MDC1200 ID's, like my maxtrac's, etc.

The MT2000 does support QCII if it's enabled in the radio.

The MT2000 doesn't support MDC Decode  I have a VHF one, and while I wish it did, it would require an MTS controler with the properly flashed option.

Ok Alex, thanks. Does anyone know how I can enable the QCII decode? Or is this something that is in the firmware?

I think it's a firmware issue. If it's enabled in the firmware, it'll be in the 'Auxilliary systems' menu. (from the main menu with a CP in memory, hit F4, F6, F7, and then QCII should be F4). You have to set up QC profiles and then apply the profiles to channels. And like the HT1000, you can't have MDC and QC on the same channel.

Bob,

The auxillary systems menu (F7) doesn't show up with this radio. The radio software version is 1.35 and the codeplug version 0009. Any ideas on what I can do next?

I've also tried to enable MPL with this radio and set an MPL button. It seems to write the data to the codeplug but I can't changle the PL.

At one point, I used a version of lab to read the codeplug in my MT2000 for archive purposes. That menu didn't appear in that version of software. However, whan I used a more recent version of standard RSS, the menu was there.

I don't know about the MPL issue... I have never tried to put MPL in my radio. I'll see if I can play with it over the weekend and get it to work. In the mean time, send me a private message here and I'll work with you on the QCII issue.

The MPL feature has NEVER worked on an MT2000. It's a screwup. Abandon all hope.
