GP-350 question.

I was wondering is anyone had any idea how much battery life remains after a GP-350 gives a low battery warning?

2mins.? 5mins.?? depends on the condition of the Radio, battery, output-power.....try it out.

It's still going after an hour last night and a half hour this morning. It's my first Motorola radio and I'll be damned if it's my last!

Hi:

This has always been issue with batteries.

Generally, the newer the battery, the longer
the results.

That is to say if you have a Motorola battery
with a date code of 821 LF, that means the
battery was made the 21st week of 1998, and
if you have a 121 LF Battery, it would have
been made the 21st week of 2001.

This is a 3 digit Date Code Motorola uses
on the battery where the Model number of the
battery is listed.

So as the battery ages, or gets used, the time period of use after the warning is a bit
proprortional to age, and condition of the battery.

When the low battery indicator is seen, its time to replace the battery if your communication needs are a requirement.

I have seen some die within 1 min after the
warning....or perhaps faster if you are transmittng.

It really dpeends on a number of factors. Most notable how you take care of the battery. If you charge it fully, then let it sit for months, you'll find the low battery indication prematurely in your usage, however, the battery will still give you hours of use in both TX and RX. If the battery is so low that it can no longer transmit I would figure you have anywhere from an hour or 2 before the radio shuts off. Power saver on either medium of long will help preserve more power so that the battery will last longest!

I have 2 GP350S and a GP300.

I just had to reply to this because i am glad that i get a premature warning.I keep up with my battery life a lot better than my co-workers but somtimes i will get a surprize.When you are a 1/2 a mile or more away from your spare and you don't need a dead battery.A real radio user would not cry about this because in some cases this premature warning may be all you need to keep you from getting KILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys,
do not forget to enable the "Battery Saver" feature on your radio, it improves the battery life sometimes by 40%!!!!!

Short power save adds 8% life,
Medium adds 15% life
Long power save adds 20% additional life.
None provide 40% though

Hey, do not quibble about %20.
Depending on how the radio is used "up to %40 saving ". The battery saver feature only works on recieve. It lets the radios reciever and microprocessor "Sleep" for a short time when not acually recieving a carrier thus reducing the current used.
