Seems like people always wait until I'm carrying something heavy or changing gears in an 18-wheeler before they talk to me on the radio...
So, is there a voice activated or foot activated headset or transmit button for a sm50? I already have a lapel mic, but there's room for improvement. Thanks in advance.

Hi:

With respects to the SM50, that one of Motorola's low tier radios.

The first problem you have is the noise level
in your truck, always keep in mind, if your
mic can pick up your audio when speaking, so will it be able to here you change gears in your truck.( or CB Radio, TV, Stereo )

They do make noise cancelling Mic's, and associated head gear for high level noise
enviroments, but the headsets, and voice activated equipment could well exceed the cost of your radio investment.

David Clark / and Motrorola has many
alternatives to this issue, but be prepared
to spend 200.00 and up for the accessories.
