Minitor II to Maxtrac or spectra repeater.
What I'm Looking to do is use a minitor II on low band as a reciever and a maxtrac or spectra as UHF transmitter(all products currently owned). The purpose for this is our county paging system is dying a slow death, (coming soon) is a new uhf paging system(so we have been told for many years). We have bought UHF minitor 4's instead of wasting the money on low band pagers. the county has a UHF paging freq from a single site, Lowband is multicasted from multiple site's the UHF coverage in our area is marginal so i would like to add asetup like above to help saturate our area a little better. anybody have any luck in this.

i do believe that your dispatch can program it in by doing a few modifications, when our dispatch switched over( Pain in the @ss) if you ask me, we were simulcasting, from low to UHF. it made things great, except when we got the UHF mobiles and things were not heard on low-band. well , whats your new freq if i can ask, and what mobiles and portables are you guys currently using, and what are you planning to use if you already havent bought new ones. BTW minitor 3-4 radios fall apart easily, i realize u guys already bought them but dont junk the 2's, i am finding many companys going back to alerting on low, becuase the 4's are not holding up well like people think they do.
what i'm looking for is to use a minitor II as the input to a maxtrac UHF one way repeat from 46Mhz(MinII) to 465Mhz(Maxtrac).. i know this can be done with two maxtrac's ...just don't have a lowband maxtrac....this would be for paging.....we use different freq's for comunications to and from dispatch....when our new system goes online it will be 800Mhz trunked mobile to base and UHF paging....hench the reason for switching to 4's.....not having any luck finding UHF recieve boards for II's the current uhf paging freq from a single site was not intended for the purpose we are using it for ...but since it's there we are utilizing it.
