Key Button Press Test Mode

Post by Caffiene »

I feel bad asking this question because I've seen the answer here before. I just can't find it now.
In the XTS-3000, there is a test mode where the number of the button pressed on the keypad is shown in the display. The test mode is similar to the 5 key presses in 10 seconds, but it's different.
Does anybody remember what it is?
Thanks,

The button just above the PTT.
Press it 5 times immediately after self-test.

This information is in a sticky, at the top of the forum.

Of course, what TPG said is what's essentailly in the thread.

I believe you are referring to this paragraph in the sticky:

2. Via SERVICE mode. To enter SERVICE mode, press the ".." button on the side of the radio 5 times, within the first 10 seconds of powering up the radio. The information will scroll across the screen. This process may have to be repeated a few times to get everything.

This isn't what I'm looking for. There is another sequence that, when pressed, displays the number of the button pressed. IOW, let's say I press '5' on the keypad, then "10" will show in the display. If I press button '6', the "11" will show in the display. I believe the number corresponds to the number that the firmware has mapped to that button.
Thanks,

It is the same sequence, however, instead of pressing the top orange button to enter the 'RF test' mode, you press the side purple button to enter the 'button test' mode. This is of course after pressing the '..' button five times after self test.

Very bottom button 5 times at bootup, then hit purple to select between RF and CH tests

orange will then start the button test

the format is button # / Pressed or depressed
ex PTT = 1/0 (off) 1/1 (Pushed)

hope this helps

Is there a key press for test mode on the XTL-1500?
