RIB Cable for Saber?

Post by IslesFan »

I'm in the process of acquiring a Saber 1E radio along with a friend. I have a real Motorola RSS box, and I need a cable for the saber. Can anyone reccomend a reasonable and cheap cable for the Saber?

I have purchaed from this guy before. He lives in the same town as me. I believe he works at Rockwell Collins as an engineer.

I have not had any problems with him.

Good Luck!

Since he's so close, WEC, maybe you can tell him that semi-hidden INSANELY high shipping fees are extremely off-putting for any reasonable Ebayer.

Obvious chinese made junk; probably shipped directly from the motherland. I asked him once via email about his outlandish shipping charges and he gave me some BS about his high quality products....

$25 shipping for something that can be stuffed in a padded envelope and shipped for 1/5th the cost?

What a scam artist.

I made my own cable utilizing the dust cover and some spring loaded contacts (from jedi connectors). Works A-OK. Cost? $2.00

Any other suggestions for cables? Has anyone actually ordered a cable from that guy and used them?

Saber cable...

Okay, $9.99 for a cable that usually goes for $35 and up.

Then, $25.00 for shipping that should cost him $3.85 or about that.

Someone should turn this guy in to eBay, as it is eBay's policy to specifically take action against scams like this.

In the event you don't understand what's going on, the seller pays a percentage of the selling price to eBay. This bird is getting around the charges by charging ten bucks for the item and then tacking on a shipping charge that is about eight times what it should reasonably be.

Yeah, that's why I tend to look for auctions that say "buyer to pay actual shipping cost", and ignore the ones with outrageous shipping charges.

If you want to construct a programming cable I have some Saber keyloader cables that can make a programming cable since they have a full set of pins.. If you want one you can have it for $5 shipped.
