Motorola RIB replacement
I need a RIB to program my Sytor X 9000 and MT-1000. I am considering a new one made by RadioStew and one by Erictronick (made in Quebec). Any one have any comments on these clones?

- What radios do you own?: Motorola, Icom, Sunair (HF).

Stick with RadioStew. That's Sandy Ganz's outfit. His circuit is by far the most reliable, being a near-carbon copy of Motorola's.k5msw wrote:I need a RIB to program my Sytor X 9000 and MT-1000. I have two RIBs that I built using Sandy's blank PCB (I used mil-spec connectors and switches, though, instead of the standard stuff called for in the parts list). I've programmed all kinds of radios with them, never had one hint of trouble.
Happy hunting.

I second that. The Sandy Ganz design rib is the best clone you can get. You can order the blank PCB from Sandy for $25 and assemble it yourself. The parts as show on the parts list cost around $20-$25 from various suppliers.kc7gr wrote:Stick with RadioStew. That's Sandy Ganz's outfit.
